Metal Source  was registered on the 08 August 2001, with the sole purpose of trading and recycling scrap metal imports from neighbouring countries in Africa, as well as the exports of non-ferrous scrap for various subsidiary companies within South Africa.

Management:

​Metal Source is a partnership, between two individuals, who have over 60 years of experience in the metal recycling industry. 

​Company Statistics:

​The Metal Source Group staff a workforce of 120 people, a specialised fleet of 15 trucks, purposely built to handle the collection of scrap metal from the industry, mines and other scrap dealers. Our companies have processed and delivered in excess of 2 500 metric tons of non-ferrous scrap as well as 10 000 metric tons of ferrous scrap per month.

We are members of the Metal Recycling Assosiation (MRA) of South Africa.

​We make use of specially trained staff for our sorting of the various grades. In addition to this, we also use a variety of specialised equipment to verify the grade of the different metals. 

A long list of equipment, such as croppers, bailers, grabs, skip bins, grinders and other processing equipment, is used to obtain maximum efficiency in the handling of materials.

 
The metal arrives at our premises which is then weighed, sorted and graded. The metal is then sold either locally or exported to various parts of the world, such as Europe, China, India and Korea. 

We pride ourselves on the quality of our material, to such an extent, that we are offered premiums on various grades of non-ferrous metals, such as Millberry, Berry, Birchcliff, Tin Copper, Dream, Ocean, Honey, Tense, Taint Tabor, Talk and litho plates etc.
